Governor Togiola returns from
Education Symposium in Arizona
(UTULEI) – Governor Togiola Tulafono returned to the Territory on Sunday night after attending a one-week trip off island that included participation at the 2007 Governors Education Symposium in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The Symposium, a project of The James B. Hunt, Jr. Institute for Educational Leadership and Policy (named after founder and former North Carolina governor),brings together the nation’s governors to engage in candid dialogue about critical challenges facing education.
Governor Togiola, who attended the meeting with First Lady – Mary Ann, said each session at the Symposium examined a variety of core education issues with presentations made by nationally recognized experts.
“It is a great opportunity for all governors to interact with these experts and share challenges and practices of their respective governments,” said Governor Togiola. “It is a very positive setting to speak and hear from the experts and other governors on solutions regardless on the size of your educational system.”
