Gov. Togiola declares
Christmas Eve & Christmas Day holidays
(UTULEI) – Governor Togiola Tulafono today declared Monday, Christmas Eve, December 24th and Tuesday, Christmas Day, December 25th as holidays in American Samoa.
Also, Tuesday, New Year’s Day, January 1, 2008 will be observed as a holiday in the Territory.
All government offices will be closed and normal activities will be suspended on these days.
In a General Memorandum issued today: “Employees of the American Samoa Government who are not required to perform essential services shall be excused from their duties. Employees required to perform duty on those will receive holiday wages in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.”
