Governor Togiola appoints Fepulea’i Afa Ripley Jr.
as Attorney General
(UTULEI) - Governor Togiola Tulafono today appointed Fepulea’i Afa Ripley Jr, as Acting Attorney General and will submit his nomination for confirmation during the special session of the Fono, which begins on Monday, April 23rd.
Fepulea’i received a law degree from California Western School of Law in 1978 and currently has a private practice in Tafuna. He is a member of the bar associations of American Samoa and Hawaii and worked locally as Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Division for 4 years, and served as Senate Legal Counsel for 12 years.
In Hawaii, Fepulea’i was a partner for six years in the law firm of Minn & Ripley and also was a Deputy Attorney General and a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney.
Currently, Fepulea’i is chairman of the Board of the American Samoa Power Authority.
Governor Togiola said Fepulea’i is a highly respected member of the American Samoa Bar Association and he is very confident of his abilities to fulfill all duties and responsibilities attendant with the position of Attorney General of American Samoa.
