ASG’s spending last month drops compared to last two years

Governor Togiola Tulafono has been forwarded a copy of the ASG Treasury Financial Overview Report for last month (local funds), submitted by Treasurer Velega Savali, which shows that expenditures last month added up to $5,876,097 compared to $6,021,450 the same time last year and $6,854,337 in August 2005.

The ASG was budgeted to expend $6,096,541 last month but according to the report, the government spent $220,444 less than that.

This can be credited to several ASG departments, agencies, and funding sources who have managed to cut spending and implement financial control like the Governor’s Office, which went from spending $411,374 last August to only $244,213 last month.

Other notables on the list include:

The Territorial Administration on Aging (TAOA) and the EPA didn’t record any spending of local funds last month or even in August 2005 and 2006.
