Mission


The mission of the American Samoa Community
College is to foster successful student learning by providing educational programs and services of high quality that will enable students to achieve their educational goals and to contribute to the social, cultural, political, economic, technological, and environmental well-being of American Samoa.


To fulfill this mission, the College, as a United
States accredited, open admissions, Land Grant
institution, provides access to associate degree and certificate programs of study. These programs prepare all students including those who are educationally underserved, challenged, or nontraditional for:

  1. transfer to institutions of higher learnin
  2. successful entry into the workforce
  3. research and extension in human and natural resources
  4. awareness of Samoa and the Pacific.

Public Notice

In accordance with the ASCA 16.2002 and rule codified in sections 13.02002 and 13.0203 and 4.1005 (Rule #01-2007), the American Samoa Board of Higher Education and the American Samoa Community College (ASCC) wishes to inform the public that beginning the Fall term 2007, a technology fee will be implemented and charged to students during the registration process.

The Academic Information section of the ASCC Catalog 2006-2008 (Pg. 22) will be amended to include the following policy:

Technology Fee
All ASCC students are required to pay a technology fee of $2.50 per credit at the time of registration (this includes late registration). Failure to pay will result in denial of admission to ASCC. This fee provides for student access to current computer hardware and software, student network security, and the management of student technology resources and supplies. There is no distinction made between resident and non-resident students. This fee is non-refundable.

The Tuition and Fees schedule in the ASCC Catalog 2006-2008 (Pg. 23) will be amended to include the following:

Technology Fee:           $2.50 per credit (non-refundable)

Interested persons may obtain information about the Technology Fee at the ASCC Administrative Services Department from May 15th, 2007 to June 15th, 2007 from 8:00am to 4:00 pm on regular workdays. The phone number is 699-9155 ext. 401, 436 or 307.
