Royal Australian Navy HMAS Childers visits AS,
courtesy call to Gov. Togiola
(UTULEI) – Australian High Commissioner in Samoa – the Honorable Matt Anderson and Lieutenant Commander Mark Taylor - Commanding Officer of the Royal Australian Navy ship, HMAS Childers, paid a courtesy call on Governor Togiola Tulafono on Saturday, March 8th at the Office of the Governor in Utulei.
Governor Togiola expressed his gratitude to High Commissioner Anderson and Lieutenant Commander Taylor for having the HMAS Childers visit the Port of Pago Pago and contribute to the economy of the Territory.
“We are always happy and thankful when Navy ships visit because it is a much-needed boost for our local businesses for a few days. I wish to thank you for your visit to American Samoa, and I am sure that your crew will enjoy our island home,” said Governor Togiola.
Governor Togiola presented High Commissioner Anderson and Lieutenant Commander Taylor with copies of the American Samoa Centennial book.
After the meeting, the Governor and First Lady Mary Ann were guests at a luncheon onboard HMAS Childers.
