Lt. Gov. Ipulasi says “big improvement” in Gov. Togiola’s condition
(UTULEI) – Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi Aitofele Sunia today issued the following statement regarding the condition of Governor Togiola Tulafono, who was transported to Honolulu yesterday.
STATEMENT
“Governor Togiola Tulafono’s medical evacuation to Honolulu was a great success. Upon arrival at 5:45pm Hawaii Time (4:45pm AS time) on Wednesday, January 16th at Hickam Air Force Base, the Governor was transported to Tripler Army Medical Center.
The good news today from Hawai’i is there is a big improvement on the condition of the Governor since his arrival and he a remains under observation in guarded condition. Doctors at Tripler have begun a series of examinations and, so far, are pleased with his progress. The Governor is in good spirits and is resting comfortably and peacefully.
First Lady Mary Ann has asked me to express her sincere appreciation for the outpour of concern and best wishes and she asks for your continued prayers.
I wish to say thank you to all of American Samoa for uniting in prayer for our Governor and I ask our island clergy to keep Governor Togiola and the First Family in your daily prayers. Thank you.”
