Lt. Gov. Ipulasi to visit Gov. Togiola in Honolulu,
AG appointed Acting Governor
(UTULEI) – Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi Aitofele Sunia will travel tonight to Honolulu to visit Governor Togiola Tulafono at Straub Hospital, and then continue on to Washington DC to attend the conference of the National Association of Secretaries of State.
Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi has appointed Attorney General Fepulea’i Afa Ripley as Acting Governor.
In a General Memorandum issued today, Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi wrote:
“I will be off island from January 31, 2008. Governor Togiola Tulafono remains off island for medical treatment. In our absence, I herewith appoint Attorney general Fepulea’i Afa Ripley as Acting Governor. Attorney General Fepulea’i shall act as Governor until my return or the return of Governor Togiola, whichever is sooner. Please extend to Acting Governor Fepulea’i your customary support and cooperation.”
