Lt. Gov. Ipulasi dedicates new Samoana school building

(UTULEI) – Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi Aitofele Sunia today dedicated the new school building at Samoana High School.

In a brief dedication ceremony for the 28 foot x 153 foot - two story building on the Solo Hill mountain side of the campus, Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi expressed his gratitude for the new structure that houses 9 classrooms, 2 offices, 2 bathrooms and a teachers lounge.

“On behalf of Governor Togiola Tulafono, who is resting well at the hospital, I wish to express my sincere thanks to all the people who played a role in bringing this new building to life,” said Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi. “I say thank you to Education Director Dr. Claire Poumele and the Department of Education, House Representatives Fiasili Haleck, Tali Ma’ae and Leapai Sipa Anoa’i, President Henry Sesepasara and the Samoana PTA, and to all the parents of the students of Samoana High School. I thank you for all of your contributions and encouragement which made this building a reality.”

“I would also like to say thank you to Director of Public Works Taeotui Punaofo Tilei and his department, as well as the contractor Mr. Rector Ibanez and his company and staff for building this new structure for Samoana,” said Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi.

“And I wish to offer my congratulations to Principal Enesi Enesi, school administration, faculty and staff and all the students of Samoana on the completion of your new school building,” said Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi. “You have definitely added fanfare to this dedication ceremony with the inclusion of the beautiful voices of your Swing Choir and the Samoana Marching Band.”

“This is another exciting day for our school system as we dedicate this fifth school building during this school year,” said Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi. “It’s a spectacular and beautiful facility for Samoana. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that you, students, have new classrooms to use and now it is up to you to take care of it and make it last for future generations.”

“Students of Samoana, if you use it right, be proud of it and take care of it, be prudent in its use, God willing, your children will also have the opportunity to use the classrooms in this building,” said Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi. “Every building has a story, and it is you students of Samoana, by using it and having it serve your needs, that will tell the memorable story in the future about that great day on January 15, 2008 when we dedicate this building.”

“Be grateful for this place of learning. You may not know it today, but you will in the future. Thank you, again. Congratulations. Good Luck and may God bless you,” said Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi.
