Governor Lolo accepts FAA grant award

Update from Governor's Cabinet meeting

Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga and Lieutenant Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga held a cabinet meeting at the Department of Agriculture Conference Room on September 20 which was attended by Directors and Agency heads, traditional leaders, agency support staff and members of the local media.

Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga signed an agreement with the FAA on September 16, releasing over 22 million dollars for the relocation of the J-Fuel Tank Farm to a more secured area and to finance airport Improvement projects. The FAA Regional Manager Mr. Ron V. Simpson headquartered in Hawaii Airports District Office represented the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the grant signing event.

American Samoa Government employees filled the Memorial Stadium for a day filled with fun and comraderie.  Gov. Lolo Matalasi Moliga  and American Samoa Chamber of Commerce President Francine Gaisoa delivered keynote addresses at the event.  Other speakers included Senate President Gaoteote Tofau Palaie; Tuafaleloa Fanolua, an apprentice with the Governor’s Office Apprenticeship Program; and Congresswoman Aumua Amata.  

National Park marks 100 years

Governor Lolo Moliga spoke at the "Saili le paka" 100 year celebration of the American Samoa National Park at Suigaula Beach Park.  The event was well attended by the public as well as those affiliated with ASNP.

Fagaitua School building opened

Lieutenant Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga officially opened the new 2 story school building at Fagaitua High School as part of "Adopt a School" initiative.
