Ta'u Solar Panel project in the News

The newly activated Solar Panel project in Ta’u, Manu’a has gained international attention as media reports have sparked awareness of this innovative demonstration of technology that will provide renewable energy to the entire island of Ta’u.  (watch video here) 

Several e-mail inquiries have been received from comparably populated islands, such as Lord Howe Island in Australia to all the way on the other side of the globe from Sark Island in the English

Channel, UK.  Inquiries have been forwarded to the Executive Director of the American Samoa Power Authority Utu Abe Malae who has responded obligingly as reported in the UK Guardian. (read here)

Ta'u’s electricity is now 100% renewable (solar) energy resulting in a significant decrease in American Samoa’s carbon footprint at a global level.
