Governor and First Lady Attend French Navy Reception Aboard the Teriierooiterai Patrol Vessel at Pago Pago Harbor

Pago Pago, American Samoa — On June 28 2025, Governor Pulaali’i and First Lady Lois Pula were among the distinguished guests invited to an exclusive evening reception hosted aboard the French Navy patrol vessel, Teriierooiterai, docked at the Pago Pago Harbor Port.

 

The occasion, graciously hosted by Captain Philippe Dumee and his crew of 33 members, was a celebration of cultural exchange, maritime partnership, and shared goodwill. Guests were warmly welcomed with a curated evening of French and local hospitality, featuring an elegant dinner, engaging dialogue, and a tour of the vessel showcasing its operational role and significance in Pacific security missions.

 

The event brought together leaders and representatives from across the territory. The honored attendees included the Director of the American Samoa Visitors Bureau, Taimalelagi Minnie Tuia, representatives from Congresswoman Aumua Amata’s Office, Miss American Samoa Tofoipupu Unutoa and Commanders of the locally stationed U.S Coast Guard. Their presence highlighted the spirit of collaboration that defines American Samoa’s commitment to regional partnerships.

Governor Pulaali’i, speaking during the reception, extended his deepest gratitude to Captain Philippe and the crew for their generous hospitality and professionalism. He remarked on the importance of fostering international relationships and praised the vessel’s mission as a symbol of shared dedication to peace, stability, and cultural unity in the Pacific. As a gesture of appreciation, the Governor Pulaali’i presented Captain Philippe with locally crafted gifts and export goods on behalf of the American Samoa Government, in gratitude for the warm hospitality extended during the evening.

 

The evening concluded with expressions of mutual respect, the strengthening of diplomatic bonds, and fond memories of meaningful conversations and shared aspirations. American Samoa remains committed to building global friendships rooted in respect, hospitality, and a deep appreciation for those who serve across seas and borders.
