Governor Honors Mothers of American Samoa on Mother’s Day

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa — On this Mother’s Day, Governor Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula extends heartfelt gratitude and warmest wishes to all the mothers of American Samoa for their unwavering love, strength, and sacrifices.

“Mothers are the heartbeat of our homes, the strength of our families, and the foundation of our community,” said Governor Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula. “Whether nurturing our next generation, leading in the workforce, or holding our families together through challenges, our mothers exemplify courage, compassion, and grace every day.”

The Governor acknowledged the invaluable role mothers have played throughout the history of the territory, particularly highlighting their contributions in preserving fa’a Samoa (the Samoan way), guiding youth with wisdom, and instilling values of respect, service, and faith.

“As we celebrate this special day, let us honor not only our own mothers but all women who uplift others with a mother’s love—grandmothers, aunties, sisters, and caregivers. May today serve as a reminder that their love is a blessing to us all.”

The Governor also encouraged families across the territory to celebrate and thank the mothers in their lives, not just today, but every day.

Happy Mother’s Day, American Samoa. May this day be filled with joy, reflection, and deep appreciation.
