Administrative Office Dedication

The Honorable Governor Pulaali'i Nikolao Pula joined the Leone High School community to celebrate the dedication of the new Leone High School Administrative Office, a significant milestone for the Home of the Lions.

The dedication ceremony was graced by esteemed religious leaders, Fono members, cabinet officials, management staff, and the proud students of Leone High School. The event began with a warm welcome by Principal Dr. Danielson, who acknowledged the significance of the occasion and expressed appreciation to all attendees.

Father Ralph Solomona of the Catholic Church in Malaeloa led the opening invocation and blessing of the new building, setting a solemn and hopeful tone for the celebration.

In his special remarks, Governor Pulaali'i expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the successful completion of the project. He underscored the importance of the new building as a hub for Leone High School's administrative duties, emphasizing that such infrastructure investments benefit not only the students but also the faculty, staff, and the broader community.

During her remarks, the CEO of Nanas Construction expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of the project and thanked the Governor and his administration for their trust and support in building critical infrastructure for the people of American Samoa.

DOE Director Maefau, in her closing remarks, acknowledged the efforts of the previous administration and reminded attendees that these projects are dedicated to the future of American Samoa’s children. She also extended her appreciation to Governor Pulaali'i and Lieutenant Governor Pulumataala for their steadfast support of the education system and congratulated Leone High School on their new administrative building.

Director Maefau had the honor of cutting the ceremonial ribbon, officially opening the building. Governor Pulaali'i, along with the distinguished guests, toured the new facility, celebrating the achievement that stands as a testament to collaboration, dedication, and unity within the community.

The Governor extended his appreciation to Nanas Construction for their exceptional work, praising their commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities that meet the evolving needs of American Samoa. Highlighting Leone High School’s motto, "Unity is our Strength," the Governor encouraged all present to remain unified, noting that unity fosters resilience, progress, and strength within the territory.

Director of Public Works, Taeaotui Punaofo Tilei, provided a brief overview of the project, which commenced in October 2023 and reached completion in May 2025. The $1.4 million project, funded through the Department of Education’s ARPA allocation, resulted in a 71-foot wide and 120-foot long facility designed to serve the school's growing administrative needs. Director Taeaotui presented the Certificate of Occupancy to DOE Director Maefau Dr. Mary Lauagaia Taufete'e, officially transferring the building for educational use.
