Governor Pulaali’i Celebrates Class of 2025 at Tafuna High School Commencement Ceremony

Tafuna, American Samoa – In a moving and memorable celebration, Governor Pula joined families, educators, and community leaders today to honor the graduating Class of 2025 at Tafuna High School. The ceremony, held at the Kanana Fou Gymnasium, was a proud moment for students, faculty, and the school community.
The event brought together distinguished guests including the Director of Education Maefau Dr. Taufete’e, Congresswoman Uifaatali Aumua Amata, members of the ASG scholarship board, and Pastor David Katina of Great Life Global, all united in their support for the graduates’ accomplishments and future journeys.
Delivering the keynote address was Dr. Allison Fitisone, a proud alumna of Tafuna High School Class of 2013. Her powerful remarks on the commencement theme “When warriors Fall, Their Legacy Lives On”, echoed through the gymnasium as she challenged the Class of 2025 to live with purpose and integrity. “Our lives are not measured by what we own, but by what we give”. Her message was met with visible emotion and applause from the graduates and guests, setting the tone for a ceremony filled with pride, reflection and inspiration.
A total of 247 graduates received their diplomas and 15 graduates were honored as ASG scholarship recipients who will continue higher education at their respective institutions. Aveolela Lauvao, Kailel Ngiraiwet, and Punipuaoolelagi Fainuulelei were named Co-Valedictorians, and Vaoita Savali was honored as Class Salutatorian.

Governor Pulaalii followed with heartfelt remarks, congratulating the graduates and recognizing the support of their families, teachers and community. “This class has shown extraordinary resilience, strength, and character”, the Governor said. “You are not just graduating, you are stepping forward as leaders, dreamers, and changemakers. I am proud to celebrate this moment with you”. Director of Education, Maefau Dr. Taufete’e also offered congratulatory messages, encouraging students to continue striving for excellence and service. Pastor David Katina gave a blessing for the graduates, emphasizing faith and gratitude.
