Governor and Lt. Governor offer their Fa’afetai to Agencies, Sponsors, and Community Partners for Independence Day Celebration in Conjunction with A250

FAGATOGO, American Samoa —As American Samoa prepares to commence its Independence Day and America250 observances, Governor Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula and Lt. Governor Pulumataala Ae Ae, Jr., expresses their sincere gratitude to all of the villages, sponsors, agencies and community organizations and volunteers whose efforts and preparations set the stage for a successful and inspiring event.

 

In the true spirit of fa’a Samoa, this is a time to gather in gratitude, to honor heritage, and acknowledge the unity of the people of American Samoa as the territory joins the wider America250 commemoration. The Office of the Governor also expresses deep appreciation to the celebration’s main sponsors, the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority (ASTCA) and the GHC Reid Family of Companies, for their generous partnership in support of the people and the festivities ahead.

The Governor and Lt. Governor also extended a special fa’afetai tele lava to the many ASG entities and public institutions whose efforts have supported the planning and coordination for the celebration.

 

“On behalf of the people and the American Samoa Government, deepest fa’afetai is extended to every hand and every heart that has worked to prepare these celebrations,” Governor Pulaali’i said. “May this occasion bring unity to our communities, pride to our villages, and renewed appreciation for our culture, our faith, and our shared future.”

 

Honoring the proud tradition of “le fa’aagatama o le tai”, the Governor and Lt. Governor extend special fa’amalo and fa’afetai to every village that fielded a fautasi crew in the A250 races, acknowledging the preparation, discipline, and teamwork that ensure yet another exciting race. From the seasoned champions to the first-time entrants, every village crew has contributed to a celebration that showcases the strength of our youth, the wisdom of our elders, and the enduring unity of our communities.

Additionally, a big fa’amalo to all of the villages that fielded cricket teams as their involvement adds another layer of excitement and camaraderie to the festivities, further exemplifying the spirit of coming together as one people celebrating our rich cultural heritage, and the historic milestone of America’s 250 th Independence Day.
