Lieutenant Governor Pulumataala Supports Youth Empowerment
with NFL Greats at Polynesian Football Camp

Tafuna, American Samoa — The Veterans Memorial Stadium was abuzz with inspiration and unity this morning, as the Polynesian Pago Pago Football Camp welcomed dozens of young athletes from across the territory. Organized through a powerful collaboration of public and private sector leaders, sponsors, and generous contributors, the camp celebrated community, resilience, and the enduring bond between American Samoa and its sons returning home.
Among the distinguished attendees was the Honorable Lieutenant Governor Pulumataala, joined by leaders and guests arriving from abroad, reflecting the broad support behind this community-driven initiative. In a heartfelt address, the Lieutenant Governor urged the youth to pursue their dreams with determination, seize every opportunity, and honor the sacrifices of their families. He emphasized the importance of staying free from drug and alcohol abuse and channeling their energies into discipline and growth through sports and education. Lieutenant Governor Pulumataala expressed his sincere appreciation to the Sons of Samoa for the opportunity to share their talents with the youth of our territory, and extended his gratitude on behalf of the Government of American Samoa.

The ceremony commenced with an opening prayer led by Bishop Lotoa, who also offered heartfelt spiritual encouragement to the young athletes. The event featured an extraordinary lineup of former NFL champions and Polynesian icons, including Seiuli Manase Jesse Sapolu, Ma’a Tanuvasa, and Reno Mahe. These distinguished leaders delivered deeply moving speeches, encouraging the next generation to rise to their potential, uplift their communities, and carry forward the spirit of the islands and culture with pride.
This one-day event is being administered by seasoned coaches and former professional players dedicated to giving back to their roots. Through mentorship, training, and cultural connection, the Polynesian Pago Pago Football Camp aims to equip young athletes with the skills, confidence, and mindset needed to excel on and off the field.
