The Territorial Energy Office works to improve economic growth of the Territory of American Samoa by connecting the government, private sector and communities to financial and technical resources in the areas of energy efficiency and advanced energy technologies.  The Territorial Energy Office aims to provide the best management of energy resources within the Territory, strengthen energy efficiency and conservation, and fully utilize the use of renewable energy, and energy technologies to ensure the future energy needs of the people of American Samoa.  The Territorial Energy Office is designated as the Territory’s Energy Office by the Governor of American Samoa and the U.S. Department of Energy, and is responsible for administering U.S. Department of Energy funding allocated to the Territory.

 

The Goals of the Territorial Energy Office:

• Continuous improvement of the quality of services provided to all customers.

• Implementation of energy efficiency as standard practice throughout the Territory.

• Increased awareness and adoption of advanced energy and alternative fuel technologies.

• Increased in-territory development, manufacturing and assembly of advanced energy technologies.

• Maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of program resources.
